Veteran Bowler Category: BETTY STEVENS
Betty Stevens has been a member of the Auburn Women's Bowling Association for over 50 years. She started her bowling career when she was in her early to mid twenties at the Polish Falcon Lanes.

Thru the years she bowled in leagues at the ABC's, Polish Falcons, Cedar House and most recently at Rainbow Lanes. In early years she bowled in four leagues weekly but in her last few years bowled only once a week.

Her high game was 279. Her high average was 185 and her two highest series of 701 and 703 in her last year of bowling.

Betty bowled on the Tuesday Night Early League for 27 years and held the position of president of that league. Betty bowled her first 600 series in the Girls Commercial league at Cayuga Lanes and chalked up many other 600 series throughout her bowling career.

Betty was also an active member of the AWBA, attending association meetings, participating in the local tournaments as well as qualifying in many Master's competitions.

She was employed by Camillus Cutlery for many years and after retiring she worked at the Kwik Fill in Weedsport. Due to health problems, Betty has not been able to bowl for the last ten years and has missed the bowling and friendships of her fellow bowlers, but her interest and support of her family and the game has never faltered.

Diane O'Donnell, age 57, has been a member of the AWBA/USBC Women's Bowling Association for 41 years. She is married to Dennis O'Donnell and has two children, Denise Ryan and Rebecca O'Donnell. Diane has two grandchildren. She is the daughter of 1981 Women's Hall of Famer, Beatrice Carpenter.

Diane started bowling at the Polish Falcons Lanes at the age of 16 with team member Nancy (Walters) Barski. The team won the league championship and Diane was hooked on bowling. She has rolled 2 - 700 series and has a high game of 278. In 1981 she had the high average for the city with 192. Diane is a two-time Women's Citizens Masters Champion, 1982 and 1989. She was the runner-up in 1981 and has placed in the final eight many times. Diane was the recipient of the St. Francis Athletic Association “Sportswoman of the Year” award in 1983.

Diane has participated in the local City Tournament for 40 years. She has won the singles, doubles and all events in both scratch and handicap divisions. She has also been a member of multiple teams which have won the team division. She has been a member of the Auburn 600 Club for 32 years and has rolled numerous 600 series. She has won many league championships, league high average and league high series awards

Diane is the current Vice President of the Auburn USBC Women's Bowling Association. She has been a board member for 13 years. She was the treasurer for three years. She is also the president of the Auburn 600 Club, Co-Chairperson of the Joint Hall of Fame and a member of The Women's Citizen Masters committee.
