Auburn U.S.B.C. Hall Of Fame
Class of 2009

Outstanding Bowler Category: GREG WALCZYK
Greg, with his calm demeanor, has quietly emerged as an outstanding bowler.

The 54-year-old has five 300 games, four 299s, two 298s and four 290s to his credit. Competing for 25 years in the Auburn USBC Bowling Association, he has eclipsed the 700 series mark more than 200 times. His all-time high is 798, attained March 1, 2004.

Major wrist surgery in 1995 did little to hold back this right-hander. Since then, he has averaged over 215 every year but one. Last season, he carried a personal-best 226 average in the Luke Bianco Memorial. In what he calls a career highlight, Greg rolled nine 279 games during the 2004-05 campaign.

He's been a frequent player in The Citizen Masters. Several times, he advanced to the tournament's match play after tying for the last qualifying position and then prevailing in a roll-off.
Greg once has led a team to a city tournament title. In recent years, he has earned several medals in the Empire State Senior Games. He is currently serving on the Auburn board of directors.

Outstanding Bowler Category: JACK JORGENSEN
In his 35 years in the Auburn USBC Bowling Association, Jack has turned in a number of sterling performances.

The 57-year-old counts his title as the all-events scratch champion in the city tournament in 1989, along with his first 300 game on Oct. 27, 1984, as his greatest feats. But the accolades didn't end there. Jack added two more perfect games to his resume on April 3, 1986, and April 10, 2003. The right-hander also has two 299 games and a pair of 298s.

Always a consistent shooter, he chalked up his first 700 series in 1979. For 25 years after that, he rolled at least one 700 each season. He reached a pinnacle in the 1986-87 campaign, firing a personal-best 785.

In 1989, Jack helped lead his team to a gold medal in the New York State Department of Correction Olympics. All told, he participated in 29 Auburn city tournaments, with a team title to his credit. He also bowled in five New York state tournaments and one USBC Open Championship.
His highest league average was 210, posted during the 1993-94 season. A decade later, Jack proved he hadn't lost his touch when he had a third-place finish in the Byrn's-Sennett Senior Masters.
Veteran Bowler Category: GEORGE PIDLPYCHAK
George clearly has been a winner during his 44 years on Auburn lanes.

He was on 16 league championship teams in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. Competing in more than two dozen city tournaments, he cashed numerous times in either the team, singles, doubles or all-events. His Brothers and Others team captured first place in 1980. Twice he has helped lead a 700 Club squad to a title.
While excelling in team play, George has also compiled an impressive list of individual honors. The 62-year-old veteran fired a pair of 300 games over a three-month span in 1999. Four times he has reeled off 11 strikes in a row, the latest coming in 2008, and has a 299 to his credit. He has authored some 30 series of 700 or better, including a tremendous 797.

George cherishes his third-place finish in The Citizen Masters in 1996, a tension-packed event in which he averaged 220. Two years later, the right-hander placed fourth in the Byrn's-Sennett Senior Masters.

He truly has given back to the game. He has been secretary-treasurer of the Chuck Blaisdell Funtimers League for more than a decade, and he was president of the George Sedor Civic. For the past 25 years, George has either coached junior bowlers or helped run Sunday morning leagues.
